Update: Texas Bill--Three Days Until Hearings!

Our bill to establish protections for medical practitioners treating Lyme and other tick-borne diseases is making great progress!

The Senate version of our bill (SB 1360 by Harris) has been scheduled for a Public Hearing in the Senate Health and Human Services Committee by Chair Jane Nelson for Tuesday, April 26 in the Senate Chambers starting at 9am. Our bill is fifth on the agenda (attached).

The House version of our bill (HB 2975 by Hunter) has been scheduled for a Public Hearing in the House Public Health Committee by Chair Lois Kolkhorst for Wednesday, April 27 in room E2.012 starting at 8am. Our bill is fourth on that agenda (attached).

(It is very unusual for a bill to get scheduled for public hearings by both a House and Senate subcommittee – and is a good sign for our chances of success because it expedites the process substantially!). . .
